Default R/E trapper

I'm a R/E and I just got ascended. I would like to be a trapper (WS 16)
Now I'm using Ranger skills only, no single Ele skill. Is that bad?
And what skills must I have to be a good trapper? Or what runes are good? To get WS 16, I know I have to buy a Sup rune of WS, but what else?

Thanks!

You're on the right track.
WS has to be set at 16.
The spirits you take will depend on where and who you go wtih.
Typical set up for Under World is

ws16
all traps
a or several spirits EOE QZ EW Winn ect.
Whirling defence
Troll urgent
and rez

Your typical 3-4 man team will plan who takes what before you go in. For example they may want you to take 3 traps and 2 spirits. The idea is to cover all traps and spirits in a team.

You should invest in a staff with energy. I bought a Flints Fleshcleaver (green) for 8K, and it has +15 energy. You will need something to give you as much energy as possible.
Also, dont put any attributes in Marksmanship. The idea is not to use bows. Your staff should provide you with some defence, but concentrate on trapping.
Get to know the names of the spirits and traps well. When you hook up with a team you can always set the skills be "name" and it makes it much easier to understand the abbribiations that exp players use.
Lastly Listen to the exp players. Do exactly what they say, and before long you will have it down.

Hah, ok thx guys, this helped me alot!
As for the staff, lucky me, I got a Flint's Fleshcleaver
But do I need other runes too? I just bought a sup rune of WS, anything else? Maybe for other things (so not for UW and FOW), then a minor rune of markmanship would be good, no?

For a pure trapper I only use a sup. WS and a sup. Vigor. Then a minor expertise but you could use a major expertise if you really wanted. I'm not quite sure the benefits are worth it but some people say they are.

For UW R/Mo is unquestionably the best build and as already stated simply because of rebirth. A good 3 man trap team shouldn't die in UW really but if you do die you'll want to be able to ressurect without having to get into aggro, hence Rebirth pwns.

If you don't want to use Rebirth, then R/* is fine in UW because you'll not need Mantra of Resolve because you'll trap then aggro, rather than aggro then trap.

In PvP, my experience has told me that Mantra of Resolve is an absolute must because without it one single attack will interupt your trapping no matter what.

If you give us an idea of where and how you want to trap then we could help you more

And as a trapper, you won't be using a bow for anything other than aggro-ing. You shan't need any points in Marksmanship

Well, its not just trapping only. I wanna use the ranger for other things too, so not just trapping in UW or FOW.
So, I bought a sup rune of WS and I equiped it on my Chest armor, but i forgot there are +1 masks too..
I have a mask +1 markmanship, but for trapping, I could use a mask +1 WS, is that a good idea? I spent my sup rune of WS on the chest piece, but if i was smarter, i should have equiped that rune on the mask +1 ws?
